one of the tour's better shows
I've been going back and listening to all of the shows from this Euro tour and this is one of my favorites. Also good shows/recordings are both Netherlands shows (of course) and the 2nd night in Switzerland (2nd show of tour). I wasn't at any of these shows -- I'm strictly going from the recordings posted here.

Not perfect sound, but a good show
This was my second UK incident and still rates as one of the best shows I've seen of anyone in 2004. The show had been moved to The Mean Fiddler, the Astoria's smaller sister venue, where the acoustics suck!! Thanks go to Michiel for braving possible problems at customs to bring his rig over from Holland; he has done a good job with the sound here - it's better than what I remember at the show.
Billy says at the beginning about making the place sweat and it certainly did. CAYA and Joyful Sound got the vibe going and The Valley of the Jig second set opener segued beautifully from Youth's intermission dj set and set the pace for a great second set. The set culminated in the sweetest Betray the Dark > Restless Wind I've ever heard - Billy teased it out forever!!
In all, for those of us in the UK this was a great show. It's not the best venue in the world for recordings and the crowd was pretty small, but the playing more than made up for it.

Interesting but Uninspired
The show is uninspired and the sound quality is not excellent. The skins and vocals are often distant and mushy. There are some unusual features, such Valley of the Jig with its keltic flare - but overall I'd suggest other SCI shows before this one.
